4 large cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut into chunks
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup water
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Put all ingredients into a 4 quart saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook over low heat, covered, until the cranberries pop and the apples are soft (15-20 minutes). Place in a food processor and blend until smooth.
Serve warm or chilled.
