1 cup butter or margarine
1-1/2 cups chopped celery
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
9 cups soft bread cubes (about 15 slices of bread) or corn bread cubes
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1-1/2 tsp dried sage leaves
1 tsp dried thyme leaves
1-1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
Cook celery and onion in butter, stirring frequently, until onion is tender. Stir in about 1/3 of the bread cubes.
Place celery mixture in large boil. Add remaining bread cubes and ingredients; toss.
Stuff turkey just before roasting. Makes 9 cups stuffing (enough for a 12-pound turkey).
