OUR CONSERVATION EFFORTS

For years the Wisconsin State Cranberry Growers Association has been dedicated to conservation efforts – conserving land, water, resources, habitat and more.

State growers work closely with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS), WSCGA and other partners to identify natural resources challenges and conservation opportunities and then identify, fund and implement solutions to promote environmental sustainability and farm profitability.

For example, WSCGA’s Whole Farm Planning Incentives Program (WFPIP) was launched in 2007 to help growers fund and develop Whole Farm Conservation Plans that address all resource issues and opportunities on a marsh.  Read more about those efforts to conserve water, monitor soil nutrients and manage pests in an environmentally positive way or watch these videos of our efforts in action.
